Favorite ALDI Finds this week — from a Slushy Maker to these crazy pickles to lots of storage
Here are a few of my favorite ALDI Finds and sale items from the new week’s ad starting either 6/23/19 or 6/27/19 (although, even in Sunday markets, many of the new non-food Finds don’t release until Wednesday).
To start with: I was bopping through my local ALDI this week and these Great Gherkins Fresh Pack Pickle Chips by the registers stopped me in my tracks. I do love me some ALDI pickles, and sometimes indulge in the refrigerated half sours when they roll around a few times a year.
But then I flipped one of the maple bourbon pickle jars around to look at the nutrition information, which… well, just wow. You and I both know that no one is going to stop at just 3.5 pickle chips, and 6 grams of sugar? Is equal to 1.5 teaspoons. Dang. I love me some ALDI, and I love me some ALDI pickles, and I know the jar says “maple” — but, even if I weren’t trying to cut back on added sugars, this seems a little excessive.
Anyway. If you decide to try these, though, let me know how they are so that I can live vicariously through you!
Other ALDI Food Finds this week
Look for cheap summer produce again — my ad is featuring cherries at $1.69/lb, and I’m so pleased. I wait all year for these to roll around in season again, and this is $.30 a lb cheaper than I’ve seen them go anywhere else. Soooo hoping that these look good when I go to the store tomorrow. Blueberries, mangoes, and watermelon are also on sale in many areas of the country, while on the meat front you can look for cheap 73% ground beef for your 4th of July burgers, as well as Kirkwood turky cheddar or jalapeño smoked sausage for $2.49.
ALDI non-food Finds, including some good ALDI storage
This week’s ALDI ad also features Easy Home 64 quart latching boxes for $6.49. I want to say that these were priced a little lower at $5.99 when I picked up a few last year, but could be wrong? These were super handy to use in moving High School Guy’s dorm stuff, which is now stored semi-tidily in my garage for the summer. Also on the organizing front, a Workzone garage tool holder is only $8.99 this week.
For the kids, more water fun: Banzai water slides or a Crain blow-up pool are $14.99 each, while novelty floats are running just $4.99 and water sports balls $6.99. And every kid through the store is looking at the Ambiano slushy maker, although this is a bit pricy at $29.99.
For the pets, look for a cooling bandana — just $3.99! A Cooling mat or small pet bed will run you $9.99, and pet travel accessories $6.99 each.
For the grown-ups: Indoor/outdoor vinyl tablecloths are only $2.99! And you can also pick up a 26 piece food storage set for just $9.99.
