Easy Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken can be an all ALDI recipe!
Slow cooker salsa chicken: this is the exact easy recipe you need to have on hand for those days when you just don’t know what to make for dinner — especially on yet another hot summer day when you don’t want to turn on the oven. Salsa chicken tacos are kid friendly, easy to adapt to different tastes and diets, super simple (just four ingredients in the salsa chicken itself!), and surprisingly tasty for being so very easy to make.
I used ALDI boneless skinless chicken breast, black beans, salsa, tortillas, cheese, and guacamole for today’s easy slow cooker salsa chicken tacos recipe, which you can read and print over at sister site Mashup Mom. Avocados haven’t looked great lately — I think there’s some kind of a shortage — so ALDI’s 16 oz refrigerated classic guacamole is a fantastic alternative to making your own. Just $2.99 at my store, and it comes in two separate packets for freshness.
Just as with last week’s shrimp quesadillas recipe, however, I actually chose to season today’s salsa chicken tacos with Spice Islands taco seasoning from Costco instead of using one of ALDI’s Casa Mamita taco seasoning packets — but you could easily substitute one of those in order to keep this an all ALDI recipe.
What brand name items does your family prefer?
On most items I’m not brand loyal, but there is, of course, the occasional exception! Out of curiosity, what does your family always prefer to buy brand name, rather than using the ALDI alternative?
Got leftover salsa?
Use your leftover salsa in a recipe like these Southwest salsa turkey burgers — which turn out just lovely with regular Casa Mamita salsa rather than the black bean & corn salsa in the original recipes.
