Does ALDI require face masks? They do now: Just a heads up for everyone, so you’re not surprised at the store. ALDI already requires that customers wear face coverings in many stores (according to local mandate), but this will now be required in all stores nationwide.
As of July 27, 2020, ALDI stores across the United States will require customers to wear face coverings to enter. (All ALDI employees will, of course, continue to wear face coverings in store.)
ALDI Face Mask Policy
Here’s the press release from the ALDI site:
New face covering policy for the safety of our customers and employeesThe health and safety of our employees, customers and the communities we serve will always be our highest priority. With that focus in mind, effective July 27, face coverings will be required to enter ALDI stores.
We continue to monitor safety protocols from the CDC as well as state and local health officials. Most recently, the CDC stated that cloth face coverings are a critical tool in the fight against COVID-19 and could reduce the spread of the virus.
Our new face covering policy is an enhanced safety measure intended to help limit the spread of COVID-19. All ALDI employees will continue to wear face coverings, as they have for months.
We encourage any customer that is unable or unwilling to wear a face covering, to visit shop.aldi.us for grocery delivery – and even Curbside Grocery Pickup in many locations.

Where did I get my mask?
I purchased the Star Wars themed mask above on Etsy, where I also recently picked up a collegiate one for my soon-to-be-college-bound son.
I also often post sale finds on disposable and discount masks in a Facebook deals group — so please do come join us for those sales and more!
I’ve also seen disposable face masks on the shelf at ALDI, but honestly they’re a little overpriced there. If it’s convenient, of course you can pick them up — but they’re often more affordable if you watch for sales online.
And if you’re looking for cloth ones: Target, for instance, has two packs of adult and kid-sized face coverings on sale as low as $4.00.
So, who else is wondering when ALDI will come out with special buy cloth masks in the Aisle of Shame?
