ALDI meal Prep containers and exercise mats are back — Plus, more ALDI Finds
New Year’s meal planners and preppers, rejoice: Cheap meal prep containers are back at ALDI! This time you get 10 divided two compartment containers with lids for $4.99, while the last time we saw meal prep containers back in September, ALDI offered 15 single compartment containers for the same price. Divided containers are often more useful in meal prep, but generally will run you a little more per container.
If you miss these in store, or if you want single compartment or three compartment containers, you can always check Amazon for affordable alternatives.
Also in stores this week: Portion control meal prep lunch containers! Bring these portion perfect collapsible meal kits to work or pack snacks for the kids, also at $4.99 each. More lunch stuffs? Well, how about $8.99 Crane freezable lunch bags, and $1.99 Crofton to-go snack containers, condiment containers, or 3 piece cutlery sets.
Here are a few more of my favorite ALDI Finds and sale items from the new week’s ad starting either 12/29/19 or 1/1/20. (Note: even in Sunday markets, many of the new non-food Finds don’t release until Wednesday). These are filled out with a few new non-advertised Finds that I’ve spotted at my own store recently.
While you’re shopping this week, also check your stores for the last remnants of 2019 holiday clearance. Mine yesterday had just one little section left, so nothing like last week’s crazy clearance sales — but you never know what might turn up.

ALDI Food Finds this week
I’ve never seen butternut squash crackers before! Gluten free, vegan, and non-GMO, these SimplyNature butternut squash crackers come in either cinnamon brown sugar or sea salt varieties, at $2.99 a box.
A few more allergy-friendly or special diet finds this week include Hope dairy free cashew & almond dips, $3.99, gluten free SimplyNature organic red lentil rotini or black bean penne, $3.69, SimplyNature gluten free quinoa chips or veggie & flaxseed corn tortilla chips at $2.19, and SimplyNature gluten free popped corn snack chips or black bean corn tortilla chips for $1.99.
This week’s ad also features a number of vegetarian special buys, like:
- Earth Grown teriyaki or Sriracha baked tofu, $3.49
- Earth Grown meatless meatballs, $3.89
- Earth Grown vegan mozzarella style shreds, $3.29
- Earth Grown flame grilled protein burger, $2.99
- Earth Grown meatless jumbo hot dogs or Italian sausage, $2.89
- Earth Grown chickenless patties or tenders, $3.29
Last time the mozzarella shreds rolled around they had good reviews, so let me know if you give them a try! (We’ll see more vegetarian products in next week’s ad, too, so stay tuned.)
More food for your New Year’s resolutions: Look for limited time 100 calorie snack packs: I spotted dill pickle or salt & pepper cashews 7 packs for $3.29, and chocolate or yogurt covered pretzels 6 packs for $2.19. ALDI has also dropped the price on some of their regularly-stocked healthier buys, such as:
- L’Oven Fresh tomato or spinach wraps, $1.99
- Never Any! lunch meat, $2.79
- Friendly Farms organic coconutmilk 64 oz, $1.79
- SimplyNature organic white cheddar puffs, $1.99
- SimplyNature organic 6 oz popcorn bags, $1.49
- Never Any! antibiotic free chicken breast tenderloins, $4.29/lb
Oh, and six packs of SimplyNature unsweetened applesauce cups are back at $1.39 — I was just looking for unsweetened cups at another large national chain a couple of weeks ago after High School Guy had his wisdom teeth out, and they were both scarce and insanely expensive. Stock up!
16 oz Earthly Grains red or white quinoa is $3.49 in this week’s ad, while SimplyNature fruit strips will run you $4.99 and Nona Lim Thai coconut lime or miso bone broth is $3.49.
Maybe I am doing something wrong here, but Middle School Guy spotted these $2.99 SimplyNature root vegetable fries and went off on an extended rant about how they have them at school and what’s wrong with having regular French fries because no one likes these. It’s hard to be a junior high boy… but anyway, I’m going to venture a guess that the ALDI version is a step up from the school cafeteria version.
Elsewhere in the freezer aisle, we have 32 oz Jennie-O white turkey burgers for $5.99, Kirkwood whole grain or blazin’ hot chicken fries for $5.49. $4.99 will get you: Fremont Fish Market shrimp or salmon power bites, Steak-umm, or Mama Cozzi’s all natural supreme or grilled chicken pizza, while $4.89 will get you into a box of Kodiak blueberry power waffles. Look also for Season’s Choice wellness blend bags for smoothies, $2.99 apiece, and a price drop on Sundae Shoppe high protein ice cream pints to $2.49.
On the meat and produce front, look for thin sliced pork chops at $2.99 a pound. (A great time to try out this broiled pork chops & zucchini recipe — zucchini are also on sale in some areas of the country.) Some regions will also have family packs of boneless skinless chicken breast on sale, as well as 3 lb packs of Jennie-O ground turkey. Grapefruit are on sale in many locations, plus big packs of organic spring mix, apples, and blueberries.
