ALDI Finds from Popcorn Kernels to Pickle Chips
A while back I picked up a bag of free pickle flavored chips on a local grocery store promo. (Yes, I cheated on ALDI for free chips…!) High School Guy was a huge fan and has been asking me to pick them up again — lo and behold, what did I spot on the shelf at ALDI today but a bag of Clancy’s dill pickle flavored potato chips for $1.49. Sold, and we’ll find out his review on these later. They’re also advertising pickle hummus (see price in store), which, well, hmm.
Other new limited time crunchy snack items this week include:
- Clancy’s horseradish cheddar or buffalo blue cheese krinkle cut kettle chips, $1.89
- Clancy’s big dippers or chili cheese flavored corn chips, $1.49
- Clancy’s cheese balls, $1.99
- Clancy’s 22 oz butter twists tub, $3.99
- Clancy’s butter or cheese puffed corn, $1.69
- Clancy’s popcorn kernels, $1.59
Stock up on those popcorn kernels, because they’re oddly seasonal!
On the sweeter side, I did not buy these $1.99 Benton’s fudge dipped cookie bites — because they seem like the kind of thing where you look down and find you’ve accidentally eaten the entire bag.
Here are a few more of my favorite ALDI Finds and sale items from the new week’s ad, starting either 3/1/20 or 3/4/20. (Note: Even in Sunday markets, many of the new non-food Finds don’t release until Wednesday.) These are filled out with a few new non-advertised Finds that I’ve spotted at my own store recently.
ALDI Food Finds this week
St. Patrick’s Day is fast approaching, so here we go with these… interesting… frozen Cattlemen’s Ranch corned beef Reuben bites, $7.99. Do these speak to you? 🙂 If you’d rather cook your own, also look for flat cut corned beef to be on sale ($2.99/lb in my ad).
You’ll see more St. Patrick’s Day related food Finds all throughout the store, including these 12 ct two-bite mini cupcakes or Lofthouse frosted sugar cookies, $2.89 apiece. Also look for:
- Bake Shop Irish cream cheesecake, $8.99
- Parkview Irish style bangers, $2.99
- Park Street Deli 32 oz sauerkraut, $1.99
- Park Street Deli shepherd’s pie, $6.99
- Baker’s Corner Irish soda bread mix, $1.29
- Emporium Selection pesto gouda or English sage derby cheese, $3.99
- Emporium Selection Irish cheese truckle assortment, $3.99
Stores that sell alcohol may also be stocking O’Shea’s Irish Stout and Connelly’s mint chocolate country cream (price varies).
Bags of beer battered fish fillets are on sale this week, too: 1 lb 2.2 oz fish fillets for $3.99, or 13.1 oz cod fillets for $4.99. Make these super easy three ingredient fish tacos Jeanie posted a while back in the Almost All ALDI Facebook group — they’re always a hit! More seafood deals for Lent include Pier 33 organic mussels, $2.99, or Fremont Fish Market popcorn shrimp or stuffed clams, $4.99. Fresh Atlantic salmon sides are $6.99/lb, and fresh tilapia is still on sale for $4.99/lb.
Aside from corned beef… fresh organic grass-fed chuck roast is $7.99/lb, and many areas of the country have family size packs of boneless skinless chicken breast on sale. Asparagus is even cheaper than last week, and some regions are also featuring strawberries, papaya, and cara cara oranges.
ALDI non-Food Finds this week
I already told you about my abiding fondness for the SOHL five tier shelf at $59.99 in this week’s ad — but, if you prefer a white leaning bookshelf, that one is just $49.99. The SOHL writing desk that matches the five tier shelf runs $69.99, and a SOHL mesh office chair will be $49.99. (Make that chair cushier with Easy Home lumbar or ring cushions, $7.99 each.)
Deck out the rest of your home or home office: Huntington Home utility runners are $9.99, and Easy Home 12 drawer rolling carts are $34.99. They also have a Pembrook cross cut paper shredder for $39.99. (I’m not sure this is a great deal, though — they often go on sale on Best Buy’s daily deals, and AmazonBasics also features a cheaper six sheet cross-cut shredder.)
Deck out your bed as well: Huntington Home 4 piece king or queen sheet sets are only $12.99 this week, or four piece reversible bedding sets are $29.99. Also pick up 5’x7′ Huntington Home plush or berber area rugs, $24.99 each, or a large velvet plush sherpa throw, $12.99. They’re featuring Huntington Home fabric milk crates for $9.99 each — I looked at these in store, and they look like they have two thin wooden ends with fabric sides to try to justify their being double the price of the more usual fabric bins.
New scents in Huntington Home three wick candles are always welcome. Vanilla & salted caramel or sweet honeysuckle, anyone? $3.99 each — or, that same $3.99 will also get you Welby reading glasses. You’ll also find Huntington Home spa candles, $4.99 — or, that same $4.99 will also get you 5″ foliage plants.
If you need a new pair of rain boots, Serra ladies’ boots are $14.99 and matching umbrellas are $6.99. Finish off your look with a spring jacket for $16.99, ponte pants for $12.99, mules for $9.99, or cardigans for $12.99. Oh, and women’s lounge dresses or shirts are back, at $8.99 each.
