ALDI Finds for Italian week, and more!

Rejoice — It’s again Italian week at ALDI! I had to start out today with the $1.79 Priano gnocchi, for two reasons. 1) Middle School Guy loves ALDI’s gnocchi (so, no one tell him I got distracted after taking this photo and forgot to throw a pack in my cart), and, 2) We actually have a cat named Gnocchi. No jokey. Otherwise known as the Notorious BKG, or Bad Kitty Gnocchi — for obvious reasons.
Read more about her and her siblings in the ongoing Caturday series here, but in the meantime… Here are a few more of my favorite ALDI Finds and sale items from the new week’s ad starting either 9/1/19 or 9/4/19 (although, even in Sunday markets, many of the new non-food Finds don’t release until Wednesday).
ALDI Food Finds this week
To go on top of that gnocchi, we have assorted Specially Selected gourmet pesto ($2.49) or Priano gourmet pasta sauce ($1.89). And if gnocchi doesn’t float your ALDI boat, you could instead try assorted Priano raviolis or tortellini at $1.79, Specially Selected ribbon noodles or flavored noodles at $2.69, faggotini pasta for $1.99, or cracked pepper fettucine or garlic herb linguine for $2.49.
And for those of you looking for a good dark roast ALDI coffee, try the seasonal Cafe Espresso ground coffee! At 12 oz for $3.79, I think it’s worth the gamble. More ALDI Italian week Finds include Appleton Farms diced prosciutto or pancetta (4 oz for $2.99), Sundae Shoppe gelato (28.5 oz for $3.89), Priano eggplant parmigiana or veggie lasagna ($2.49), and the most intriguing Specially Selected balsamic vinegar or pancetta Parmesan kettle chips.
I’m not sure if these are part of Italian week or just there coincidentally, but you can also look for Clancy’s cheesy garlic bread flavored potato chips this week — as well as SimplyNature olive oil sea salt or herbs & spices popcorn, at $1.79 and $1.89, respectively. SimplyNature kale chips will run you $2.49, and I saw dill pickle flavored potato chips in my store today for $1.79 as well.
On the meat & produce front, thin-sliced boneless pork chops are on sale for $2.99/lb in many ads. I still have a bag of edamame in my fridge from one of the last sales, so am thinking of making this garlic soy pork recipe (adjusting the cooking time down a bit for thinner strips). What are you making with yours? Look for plums, nectarines, Brussels sprouts, and mushrooms on sale in many regions as well.
ALDI non-Food Finds this week
If you have little ones in your house, these $3.99 Bee Happy baby squishmallows are just. so. squishy! Lots of other baby and toddler items are on sale this week — Little Journey step stools or toilet seats are just $4.99, Little Journey 6 pair infant or toddler socks are $3.99, and Serra Ladies’ maternity 2-pack tees or leggings will run you just $12.99 each. Also look for larger baby gear, like a Little Journey walk-through safety gate ($29.99) or Infantino twist & fold gym or flip 4-in-1 carrier at $24.99 each.
And look at these nifty succulent terrariums (terraria?) that I spotted at my store today for $12.99! These weren’t in the ad, but they had a bunch of them on the shelf. More on the home front: An Ambiano digital food dehydrator will run you $29.99, or a Crofton chef’s collection wire fruit basket is $6.99, and Crofton on-the-go lunch containers with reusable ice pack are $4.99 each.
And on the soft and squishy comfort items for adults front, these Huntington Home royal plush blankets are indeed quite plush at $14.99 each. Need new bedding in general? Huntington Home king size bed pillows showed up at $8.99 this week, 7-piece bedding sets $39.99, and 300 thread count sheet sets $24.99. Get some new PJs while you’re at it — women’s 2-piece Serra sets are $12.99, and two packs of super soft leggings will set you back $9.99. Oh, and a Bauhn clock radio is $12.99, if anyone still uses one of these.
