ALDI Finds for Back to School Lunches, plus Everything Avocado

While last week’s ALDI ad was all about school lunch food, this week’s ALDI ad focuses more on everything you need to pack those lunches. These 300 ct Boulder sandwich bags are a fantastic price at $4.29 every time they roll around for the new school year (making them just 1.43 cents per bag), and I also spotted 200 ct Boulder snack bags for $3.49. (Even the Amazon generic ones are much more expensive, although every once in a while you’ll see a great coupon deal for those.)
Here are a few more of my favorite ALDI Finds and sale items from the new week’s ad starting either 7/28/19 or 7/31/19 (although, even in Sunday markets, many of the new non-food Finds don’t release until Wednesday).
ALDI Food Finds this week
It’s National Avocado Day today, which is one of my favorite holidays, I must say. So, avocados are on sale in many regions — $.99 each in the Chicago area, but they didn’t look great in my store this morning. If they don’t look great at your store either, also look for frozen Season’s Choice avocado chunks at $2.99 each. Just thaw out what you need, or drop these frozen chunks directly into smoothies!
And how do we celebrate National Avocado Day? With national avocado recipes, of course — find eleven avocado recipes to get you started, right here. And since mini cucumbers are also on sale this week in many markets ($1.49 for 16 oz in Chicago ads), you can also look at making this chopped chicken avocado tomato cucumber salad for a refreshing summer meal. Try some $.89/lb red grapes or $.79/lb peaches on the side (keeping in mind that produce prices will vary by region).
If you feel brand-name-ish on the everything avocado front this week, ALDI is carrying Way Better avocado ranch tortilla chips for $2.29.
Other Food Finds this week are more Mediterranean themed: Journey To… Mediterranean assorted dressings are $1.99, Journey To… Greece rosemary & feta krinkle cut kettle chips are $1.89, and Mama Cozzi gyro pizza will run you $3.99. Also look for Park Street Deli tzatziki dips ($2.49), Specially Selected Kalamata olives ($2.19), and Happy Farms Preferred mini feta cubes ($2.99).
Beyond food — ALDI Finds for back-to-school lunches and more
Beyond the great deal on ALDI sandwich bags, look for lunch containers galore this week. Adventuridge insulated lunch bags are just $3.99 (and backpacks will run you $7.99), while 2 pack Crofton 14 oz hydration bottles are $8.99 and various Crofton 4-compartment lunch containers are just $3.99 each. Even if your kids won’t use these, by the way, they’d be great for work lunches! Go a little fancier, and you can get Crofton expandable lunch or salad containers for $6.99 each.
Crofton snack containers are $2.99 (and these are great for diaper bags), portion control meal containers are $4.99, and you’ll find Crofton vacuum insulated food containers at just $6.99. Oh, and I picked up a two pack of Crofton berry keepers today — will let you know later how those work.
For the littles, $12.99 is a great price for a magnetic tiles set (you can also pick up foam blocks for the same price). Also check out a huge Little Journey foldable playmat for $14.99 or a SOHL sling bookcase for $19.99.
If you missed the message boards in store recently, how about a Huntington Home LED message box? This will run you just $8.99 this week, and for more back-to-dorm fun, check out SOHL saucer chairs for $29.99, Huntington Home reversible comforters & waterproof mattress pads ($14.99 each), or body pillows ($9.99).
This is a really long ad this week, and the Amazing Aisle of Random was just jam-packed this morning. Also look for laundry & home finds, including $24.99 Easy Home wardrobe organizer, a $9.99 drying rack, a $5.99 flexible hamper, $3.99 pleated window shades, and more.
