A $10 Crofton Cast Iron Skillet?! And more awesome ALDI Finds

Riddle me this: What costs just $10 this week, but will usher in a never-ending wonderland of delicious dinners and desserts?
The amazing Crofton 12″ cast iron skillet is back!
If you guessed Crofton cast iron skillet, you win! Yes, the above shows a pan full of cheesy goodness in my own 12″ cast iron skillet from ALDI a few years back. Lucky you: Crofton cast iron skillets have reappeared in this week’s ad at just $9.99, which is an excellent price. (I think mine ran more around $12 at the time, if I remember right.)
How do these compare to brand name? Well, my ALDI cast iron skillet seems to be just slightly more uneven and a little rougher than my 10″ Lodge skillet, but it’s perfectly functional — and has held up to some pretty heavy use. Just be sure to keep yours well seasoned, and it should last you forever. And what can you make with it? Ohhhh, how about these hearty dinners, for starters:
- Caprese chicken & zucchini skillet (shown)
- Black bean, tomato, & spinach frittata
- Chicken drumsticks Southwest skillet
- Garlic shrimp w/ roasted cauliflower, white beans, and tomatoes
- Cheesy chicken & spinach skillet
If you miss this week’s ALDI sale, you’ll have to pay a bit more but can generally find a 12″ cast iron skillet at a decent price on Amazon. Every kitchen should have one!
Here are a few more of my favorite ALDI Finds and sale items from the new week’s ad starting either 9/22/19 or 9/25/19 (although, even in Sunday markets, many of the new non-food Finds don’t release until Wednesday).
ALDI non-food Finds this week
Beyond your basic 12″ cast iron skillet, ALDI has more cast iron Finds this week to brighten up your kitchen. These Crofton cast iron French ovens, for instance, are just so lovely at $24.99, or you can pick up a Crofton cast iron saucepan or reversible griddle/grill at $14.99 each. My store also sported seasoned or enameled cast iron care kits for $4.99.
Beyond cast iron for your kitchen (wait, there’s more?), let’s talk coffee, tea, and all these things for me. $9.99 will get you either a Crofton insulated carafe or a Crofton 2.5 quart teakettle. Or, $14.99 will get you a Crofton Chef’s Collection gourmet coffee maker (looking for a French press?), $2.99 gets you a reactive glaze mug, and $19.99 will get you into an Ambiano 12 cup programmable coffee maker.
Elsewhere on the kitchen front, look for an Ambiano digital turbo convection oven ($39.99), Ambiano high speed blending system ($19.99), or a Crofton 16 piece food storage set ($4.99).
There’s a meme regularly going around Facebook about “going into ALDI for some bread and coming home with a 2 man tent, a chainsaw, and a trumpet.” Well… this week you can legit come home with a chainsaw! For just $34.99, no less — which will get you into a Ferrex electric chainsaw or a Ferrex electric blower. (Step up to a Ferrex pole saw for $69.99.)
Other handy tools and yard type stuff this week include:
- Gardenling 25′ triple tap or 50′ outdoor power cords, $11.99
- Workzone 2000 watt inverter generator, $369.99
- Sterilite 20 gallon latch totes, $6.99
- Gardenline hedge shears or loppers, $9.99
- Workzone retractable or folding knives, $6.99
- Gardenline leaf scoops, $6.99
- Gardenline garden bags, $8.99
- Workzone heavy duty 5 tier shelving unit, $36.99
… and more!
Let’s see, what else. Other non-food Finds themes this week include fitness & outdoors — like men’s or women’s Adventuridge hiking shoes, $19.99, or men’s flannel-lined jeans, $16.99. For your pet, there’s a Heart to Tail ceramic pet treat jar for $9.99, or Huntington Home furniture covers at $14.99 or $24.99 depending on size. Heart to Tail pet mats are $2.99, while a Heart to Tail elevated pet feeder is $14.99 and pet travel cut $16.99.
ALDI food Finds this week
It’s fall ‘n stuff, so we’ll start easing into… PUMPKIN SPICE ALL THE THINGS. Like, say: Either Millville Pumpkin Crispy O’s or Friendly Farms delightfully pure pumpkin spice creamer for $1.99, Priano pumpkin sage or butternut squash ravioli for $2.79, Barissimo pumpkin or salted caramel coffee cups, $3.89, SimplyNature Organic whole grain seeded pumpkin or pumpkin spice bread, $3.99… you get the idea! Look for the return of more fall faves throughout the store.
More seasonal finds include Reggano oven ready lasagna noodles at $1.59. (Why are these seasonal? No one knows…) I happily spotted Chef’s cupboard panko back on the shelf at my store today, also at $1.59 — and 32 oz Earthly Grains harvest blend or arborio rice, $4.99. Look for Bremer frozen shepherd’s pie for $5.99, and Bake House Creations Hawaiian crescent rolls, $1.49. (Note that some of the season-long Finds will migrate over to the regular shelves out of the Aisle of Shame, so keep your eye open throughout the store.)
On the meat ‘n produce front this week, many areas have family packs of 73% lean ground beef, chicken tenderloins, grapes, apples, and spinach on sale. Also look for butternut, acorn, and spaghetti squash back in stores — $.69/lb in my region; check the price in yours!

I’ve been to 3 Aldi locations and none of them have Crofton cast irons as you claimed and they all deny ever having stocked any cast iron can I get an explanation? Maybe Crofton would also like one. Thanks
They’re in this week’s ad — perhaps stores in your area had a delay in shipment, but you can see them on the ALDI site here: https://www.aldi.us/en/weekly-specials/this-weeks-aldi-finds/this-weeks-aldi-finds-detail/ps/p/crofton-cast-iron-12-skillet/
Not sure where you are, Spencer Keller, but I’m in Concord, NC and I just bought one today (they must’ve had 50 stacked there).
Props to you for answering such a rude sounding comment.
I have ssen Crofton iron skillets and roasters in 3 different Michigan Aldi stores
Hello, thank yoHello and thank you for creating Allmost All Aldi,
I am a new Aldi shopper and was blown away by the prices and all that is offered in the store. Each time I’ve visited the store I’ve had a good experience. Can you share with me the ins and outs, what to look for and how to get the best for my buck? I also want to know if anyone had seen any of the Crofton pan for $24.99 dollars, that looks just like the Always Pan and the Crofton cast iron french over in any of the Baltimore, MD stores. Thank you again for all you do!
Sincerely, G.

Hi! I got one of the cast iron skillets at Aldi! Impulse buy, but I’d been looking to replace my non-stick skillet. I can’t tell from the booklet with it – is it already seasoned?? Thanks.
They’ve had several different cast iron skillets — It’s most likely pre-seasoned, but couldn’t hurt to season it just to be sure.
