Poke Bowls are back — and more ALDI Finds!

Here are a few of my favorite ALDI Finds from the new week’s ad — which started yesterday 3/10 in Sunday market stores, and will start Weds. 3/13 in Wednesday market stores. But! Sometimes stores start putting their ALDI Finds out early, and I actually found these Poke bowls stocked in my store this past weekend.
These things are so dangerous every time they roll around. At $5.99, they’re not cheap — but at ALDI they are $2.00 cheaper than they normally run at my Target, so we’ll call that a win. I like to add half an avocado and a little green onion to mine for a quick lunch splurge. They’re so, so good, you guys!
The only thing I don’t like about these bowls is the amount of sugar in the sauce. At 13 grams, it’s higher than I usually like to go with added sugars — but, it’s also a lot of sauce, so you can control that by using less of the packet if desired.
I do make my own Poke bowls at home on occasion, so am thinking about working on a knockoff version of these using either ALDI’s frozen ahi tuna or their refrigerated smoked salmon. What do you think, should I get cracking on that for a future almost-all-ALDI recipe?
More on the food front
In addition to the Poke bowls you can look for Journey to India spices inluding turmeric, curry, or garam masala at $1.99 each. These are nice additions to your spice cupboard, and to your recipes. Little boxes of turkey breakfast sausage are $.99 (the knockoff brown ‘n serve type), and 12 oz Barissimo Roastmaster whole bean coffee will run you $5.79.
Other ALDI Finds I’m liking this week
ALDI is all over the place with their special buy themes this week! First up, they’re featuring a variety of exercise items. There, oddly enough, I’m liking six packs of sport socks for $6.99, since I’ve always been happy with the quality of ALDI socks.
Then, if you’re planning on traveling over spring break, you might also check out this week’s travel-related buys. $29.99 is a nice price for a carry-on, and the kids’ rolling suitcases are just too cute. (Alas, my boys are both way too old for these now… how time, it does fly.)
On the home organization front, this is a great price for this Easy Home four tier chrome shelving! The exact same size shelf at Home Depot, for example, is currently $54.98 — compare those specs with the ALDI shelving here. Other useful home finds this week include various wire cabinet organizers, stacking baskets, or under cabinet baskets at $4.99 each, and three packs of refrigerator liners at $3.99 each.
And because it’s almost spring: They also have 20 lbs of wild bird food on sale for $6.99. This is a good price, but it’s actually even cheaper at Ace Hardware right now if you have one near you, where 40 lb wild bird food is on sale for $9.99 with free in store pickup. Also look for sales on bird feeders and baths, though, for your backyard bird watching fun. Also on the spring note, look for women’s rain boots for $14.99 and umbrellas for just $6.99, as well as ornamental shrubs for $3.99.
Oh and on those shrubs — they are tiny things when you buy them, but I picked up several forsythia from ALDI at this price several years ago… and they are now taller than my garage! They grew like crazy, and are totally worth the small investment.
What’s up with ALDI Finds?
ALDI Finds are limited time special buy items that are available in stores only while supplies last. So if you spot something you like, be sure to pick it up while you can! What caught your eye among this week’s ALDI limited time special buys?
You can view these and additional upcoming weekly specials using the ALDI Finds tabs across the top of their weekly ads page, but note that pricing and availability may vary by region. These sale prices are from the ad starting Sunday 3/10/19 or Wednesday 3/13/19, depending which ad market you are in.
